A Big Update!
We recently held an exciting webinar to announce many new updates to Muzie.live. We aim to streamline and optimize the platform based on your invaluable feedback as teachers and students.
Below are all the key improvements and new features you can expect to see next time you log in to Muzie.Live:
Simplified Interface
We've made some significant changes to declutter and simplify the interface to enhance usability:
Streamlined Student List: Profile cards and list views have been combined into a single, streamlined student list.
Icons and Colors: We've added icons and color coding to help you quickly identify which students are online or offline.
Quick Information Access: Clicking the student icon pops up a quick profile card to view important information without having to navigate away from the page.
Faster Student Onboarding
One of the most exciting updates is the expedited student onboarding process, designed with both teachers and students in mind. Here's what has changed:
Direct Account Generation: Teachers can now generate student accounts directly from the platform. This eliminates the waiting period previously required for students to sign up, allowing you to share materials instantly.
User Control: Despite the streamlined onboarding, students still maintain full control over their login details, ensuring security and privacy.
Updated Sidebar Design
To make navigation more intuitive, we have overhauled the sidebar in the following ways:
Cleaner Layout: The new design simplifies the look, making it easier to find what you need.
Home Button: The logo now serves as a home button, offering a quick way to return to the main page anytime.
Getting Started Tab: For the convenience of our new users, we've moved the 'Getting Started' tab to the sidebar. This provides quicker access to help guides, support tickets, and other essential resources.
Enhanced Assignments
We've enriched our assignments feature to make it more interactive and rewarding for both teachers and students. The new capabilities include:
Practice Goals: Teachers can now set specific time goals for each assignment.
Due Dates: The ability to set due dates provides a clear timeline for completion.
Progress Tracking: Monitor students' progress over time with new tracking features. This gives both teachers and students the ability to understand how well the learning objectives are being met.
Awards: As an added incentive, students can earn awards for reaching their practice goals. These are displayed in the assignment and on the leaderboard.
Playable MusicXML Files
Teachers now have the ability to import MusicXML files into the platform for an enriched teaching and learning experience. These files can serve multiple purposes:
In-Lesson Use: During lessons, teachers can control the playback of the MusicXML files in real time, offering a synchronized play-along experience for students.
Assignments: Teachers can also include these MusicXML files in student assignments for independent practice.
Upgraded MIDI Sounds: Say goodbye to tinny pianos! We've upgraded our MIDI sounds to provide a richer, more lifelike audio experience. Whether you're practicing scales or performing complex pieces, the new sound quality will enhance your musical journey.
Overhauled Whiteboard
We've redesigned our whiteboard interface to make it more user-friendly and feature-rich. Here's what you can expect:
Simplified Accessibility: All essential tools are now easily accessible through a streamlined sidebar, eliminating the need to navigate through cumbersome menus.
Colored Annotations: You can now annotate with different colors to emphasize specific points or parts of the lesson.
Musical Notation: The whiteboard now sports a new musical notation menu, making access to notation easier.
File Import: Whether it's worksheets, diagrams, or other visual aids, you can import files directly into the whiteboard for interactive lessons more easily, and these files can be saved in a new "recent" menu for reuse in later sessions.
Revamped Events and History
We've made significant changes to improve how you track both upcoming and past activities. The Events and History tabs have been combined into a single, new Events section, offering several advantages:
Cleaner Overview: With the merging of the tabs, you'll get a simplified and cleaner view, making it easier to keep track of upcoming lessons, completed lessons, and any associated recordings.
Unified Location: Now, you won't have to switch between multiple tabs to get a complete picture of your teaching or learning journey. Everything will be accessible from this unified Events section.
Enhanced Chat
Communication is key, and we've made some noteworthy improvements to our chat feature to make it even more user-friendly:
Message Spacing: We've added spacing between messages, making the chat easier to read and follow, thereby improving the overall conversational experience.
Profile Avatars: Your profile avatar will now display automatically within the chat, adding a personal touch and making it easier to identify who's speaking in group chats.
Admin Enhancements
To make life easier for studio owners and admins, we've implemented several new features aimed at simplifying management tasks:
Bulk Student Account Generation: You can now generate multiple student accounts at once, saving time and making the onboarding process more efficient.
Simplified File Sharing Controls: We've streamlined the controls for sharing files, making it quicker and easier to distribute materials to teachers or students.
Improved Clips
We've made a series of enhancements to our Clips feature to make capturing and sharing audio and video easier and more reliable:
Audio-Only Mode: For situations where only audio is needed, you can now choose an audio-only mode for recording.
Combine Audio and Video Clips: You can combine separate audio and video clips, giving more flexibility in sharing and presenting content.
New User Interface: We've updated the Clips interface to be more intuitive, making creating and managing your clips easier.
Increased Reliability: Improvements in the backend mean that clips are now more reliable, minimizing the chance of errors or glitches.
Additional Enhancements for a More Intuitive Experience

Quick Access 'New' Menu: Easily access newly-added features, documents, and functionalities from a dedicated "New" menu.

Teacher Avatars: Add a personal touch to your profile with customizable teacher avatars.
